The reason this Caucasian father's beautiful intelligent charming daughters can't speak or understand English very well, is because his ethnic Taiwanese wife (Hakka, still very young) doesn't speak all that much English around her daughters. Her daughters speak and talks like she does in the Mandarin, but they still have perfect English communication with their father. It's just that there's a lot lacking in that area of supposed natural capability. No wonder they are wanting a good tutor for their daughters! Ouch! That's just painful!

He's a professional with busy appointments in the Asiatic region and is only home every two weeks. That's the only time when he can talk with his daughters.
